The device measures 1.45 inches wide by 1.82 inches tall and 0.61 inches thick. It weights less than an ounce.  Your dog should feel comfortable wearing it.

The Whistle 3 is priced competitively, with a low initial cost of $99.95. There is a required GPS service fee -  $9.95 per month, $95.40 for one year, or $166.80 for two years. A subscription is necessary to use any of the tracking features. 

Long battery life. The Whistle 3 comes with a rechargeable battery that you can fully charge in two hours. You can get up to seven days of operation with a single charge.  The Whistle 3 also gives you one of the longest battery running times. Competitors batteries last anywhere from 3 to 5 days.

Whistle 3 Key Features

• Get alerts anywhere. The Whistle 3 is able to send you text, in-app, and e-mail alerts when your dog leaves the designated safe places.  Notifications can include texts or emails; you can get them for your pet's GPS location, activity goals/streaks/trends, and other things like battery life and app updates. 
• Free mobile app. The Whistle 3 uses a free companion app that is specifically designed for the device. It allows you to see your pet’s location, as well as a history of where it went and how long it stayed there. The mobile app also shows you how active your pet was during the day.  The smartphone app that controls it is simple and intuitive
• Waterproof. The Whistle 3 is waterproof, rated at IPX7. This means that the device can be submerged in water up to a meter deep for as long as 30 minutes. Your dog can go jump in a lake, play in the rain, or get wet without damaging the Whistle 3.
• Smallest Device. Whistle 3 is the smallest device available for tracking your pet. 
• Accurate pet tracking. The Whistle 3 gives you more accurate location tracking by using both GPS and GLONASS satellite systems. 
• Safe places. Whistle 3 allows you to create safe places where you know your dog will ordinarily be. Once your dog is out of the safe place, the system will send you an out of bounds alert. Multiple safe places can be created in order to lessen the number of alerts you get.

What you would like about the Whistle 3

With Whistle 3, you would get fast and accurate location tracking for your pets. If your dog is within your backyard, the tracker will save battery by using your Wi-Fi network and Bluetooth connection to connect with your smartphone. But in the event that your dog gets lost, you can rely on AT&T’s cellular towers nationwide to help you find it.

You'll need to create a profile for your pet wearing a Whistle 3 including species, breed, gender, age, weight, and time zone. Daily activity goals can also be set. Each dog tracker needs its own GPS subscription.

Location 

Upon launch of the app of Whistle 3, you'll see the location of your pet on a Google Map. The bottom of the screen is a display for battery life.  Trips are on the top the screen where you'll see a report on where your pet's been for the last day. After 24 hours, however, that data is gone.  The information storage only stays for the past 24 hours. You will not be able to see tracking data beyond a 24-hour period.

The location will update every 90 seconds. Tracking will turn off when your pet returns home or within 30 minutes. You must manually tell the app to start tracking again.
